Hi guys, I'm on the Racer X Forum and user Pao usually host a forum jam.
How it works?
Simply (for us players!, not for Pao), we jam over a backin' track provided by Pao and then he 'pastes' all the solos on an extended version of the track; the result is a loooong (usually more than 10 mins) track with us showing our abilities :D
At last I recorded my own solo.
I'm not very satisfiedwith it.. I can find a proper groove nor I can be very comfortable with the fast tempo (fast for me).
But the nice thing I did was on the Bbmin-Eb7 progression, where I played Bb dorian, then F dorian followed by D dorian and at last B dorian, returning to Bb dorian.
If you're smart enough, you can notice that F is the 'dorian note' (maj. 6th) of Bb, D is the 'dorian note' of F and so on.
It's a great trick commonly used in progressive/fusion and some jazz music; Lazarus usually does this kind of stuff, and I learnt it from him.
This time the Backing Track is here.
My take is here.
If you have any suggestion/advice, please tell me!
p.s.: when the Jam is over, I'll post a sum here.
